East York

Long an independent city, East York has a unique identity that sets it apart from other sections of Toronto, with a diverse selection of new condos and homes being available for resale throughout its varied neighborhoods.

District Profile

East York is home to a number of distinct neighborhoods on either side of the Don Valley. In the north, Leaside has become a highly sought-after residential district teeming with new condos for sale, which will exist side by side with stately homes and pleasant streets. Moving south across the river, Pape Village and Todmorden Village are a mixture of high-rise apartments and historic homes, with commercial strips along Pape Avenue and Donlands Avenue. Closer to Danforth Avenue, Woodbine-Lumsden and Woodbine Gardens have been relatively untouched by Toronto’s ongoing development boom, and retain their secluded atmosphere. Finally, the charming Woodbine Heights and Parkview Hills areas straddle either side of Taylor Creek.

Transportation Options in East York

Virtually all East York neighborhoods are served by at least two frequent TTC bus routes. Each route connects to a subway station on either Line 1 or Line 2, allowing for easy access to Downtown Toronto. Residents in the eastern portion of the district are also in close proximity to Danforth GO station. From there, Union Station can be reached in approximately ten minutes. For drivers, the Don Valley Parkway includes entrance/exit interchange in the heart of the community.
