Halton Region covers a wide expanse of the western Greater Toronto Area, and is home to some of its most highly sought-after residential communities. Along the Lake Ontario shoreline, both Burlington and Oakville are home to a mixture of historic residential neighborhoods, newer suburban-style detached homes and a host of condo buildings. In addition, both communities boast charming and walkable downtown cores, as well as a number of waterfront recreational amenities. To the north, the town of Milton has long been one of the fastest-growing locations in Canada, with a wealth of resale condos and homes now being available in this bustling community. Past Milton, the town of Halton Hills is anchored by the charming Georgetown community, with its historic Main Street district and plethora of popular commercial amenities. Finally, a number of smaller villages (most notably Acton and Campbellville) offer a quieter, more rural living experience that still offers easy access to the region’s myriad amenities.
Halton Region is home to some of the most prominent and eye-catching natural scenery in the Greater Toronto Area. Locations such as the Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area and the Halton Regional Forest are popular destinations for hiking and other recreational activities. Further south, the large valleys carved by Bronte Creek and Sixteen Mile Creek anchor large conservation areas that boast extensive trail networks. For those looking to buy resale properties in the region, this wealth of natural beauty is a major benefit that virtually nowhere else in the Greater Toronto Area can match to the same extent.
