Situated between Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay, Simcoe County straddles the boundary between the suburbanized landscape of the northern Greater Toronto Area and the expanse of Ontario’s cottage country. The county is centered on the city of Barrie, which serves as the region’s primary commercial hub. Anchored by its waterfront and revitalized downtown core, Barrie has seen tremendous growth in recent years. As a result, buyers looking for resale opportunities here can choose from a variety of housing types, ranging from new condo buildings to spacious suburban homes.
To the north and west of Barrie, the towns of Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Midland and Orillia offer, by virtue of their locations on the aforementioned bodies of water, a charming living experience while providing residents with easy access to a wealth of recreational opportunities. To the south, towns such as Innisfil and Bradford are increasingly part of Toronto’s growing commuter belt, with many of the resale options available being part of new suburban communities. Finally, a scattering of small towns and villages throughout Simcoe County offer the chance to live in a tranquil community that still offers easy access to a wealth of local and regional amenities and destinations.
