Real Estate Market Watch: Residential Transactions
- 3,117 residential home transactions took place in December 2022, down from 6,013 in December 2021 - a decrease of 48.2%.
- When seasonal adjustments are taken into account, there was an 1.1% increase in the number of purchases from November 2022 (4,879) to December 2022 (4,933).
December 2022 Real Estate News: Average Selling Prices
- The average sale price for December 2022 was $1,051,216. This is a decrease of 9.2% over December 2021, when it was $1,157,837.
- The average price for homes in the Greater Toronto Area saw a 0% change compared to the previous month (from $1,101,465 to $1,101,398).
Monthly Market Update: New Listings
- There were 4,074 listings available for December 2022, which is a 21.3% decrease from December 2021 (when there were 5,177).
- The sales-to-listings ratio has decreased by 39% from December 2021, from 116% to 77%.
Real Estate Market Watch for December 2022: Days On The Market
- The average property spent 40 days on the market, compared to 19 last year - an increase of 110.5%.
- Listings spent an average of 27 days on the market, which is a 92.9% increase from this month last year (when they spent an average of 14).
