Real Estate Market Watch: Residential Transactions

• 3,359 residential home transactions took place in December 2024 down from 3,419 in December 2023 - a decrease of 1.8%.
• There was an 18.7% decrease in the number of purchases from November 2024 (6,591) to December 2024 (5,359). 

 

December 2024 Real Estate News: Average Selling Prices

• The average sale price for December 2024 was $1,067,186. This is a decrease of 1.6% from December 2023, when it was $1,084,757.
• The average price for homes in the Greater Toronto Area saw a 0.2% decrease from November 2024 to December 2024 (from $1,125,349 to $1,122,948).

 

 Monthly Market Update: New Listings

• There were 4,681 listings available for December 2024, which is a 20.2% increase from December 2023 (when there were 3,894).
• The sales-to-listings ratio has decreased by 16% from December 2023, from 88% to 72%.

 

Real Estate Market Watch for December 2024: Days On The Market

• The average property spent 56 days on the market, compared to 49 last year - an increase of 14.3%.
• Listings spent an average of 36 days on the market, which is a 12.5% increase from this month last year (when they spent an average of 32).
