Real Estate Market Watch: Residential Transactions

• 4,223 residential home transactions took place in January 2024, up from 3,083 in January 2023 - an increase of 37%.
• There was a 9.6% increase in the number of purchases from December 2023 (5,884) to January 2024 (6,448).

 

January 2024 Real Estate News: Average Selling Prices

• The average sale price for January 2024 was $1,026,703. This is a decrease of 1% from January 2023, when it was $1,036,925.
• The average price for homes in the Greater Toronto Area saw a 6.5% decrease compared to the previous month (from $1,135,787 to $1,062,111).

 

 Monthly Market Update: New Listings

• There were 8,312 listings available for January 2024, which is a 6.1% increase from January 2023 (when there were 7,836).
• The sales-to-listings ratio has increased by 12% from January 2023, from 39% to 51%.

 

Real Estate Market Watch for January 2024: Days On The Market

• The average property spent 54 days on the market, compared to 41 last year - an increase of 31.7%.
• Listings spent an average of 37 days on the market, which is an 27.6% increase from this month last year (when they spent an average of 29).
